Glen Ryman is a 39 year old business analyst and father of three daughters. He has worked in banking and insurance for the last seven years. In the ten years prior to this, Glen has experienced a number of career changes with work in performing arts, tourism, event management, academia, hospitality and publishing.

He is one of the many thousands who commute to Brisbane from the Coast each day and, like many of his peers, Glen is constantly striving to find a balance between career and family.

He is a great supporter of the Greens family days, as this gives him a chance to combine family outings with politics. His motivation to be involved in the Greens is, in part, to be a strong role model for his three daughters. He recalls his own childhood when his parents were involved with the Council of Churches in opposing the anti-democratic and anti-humanitarian actions of the Bjelke-Petersen government in the 1970s.

He has been involved in the peace movement since the early 1980s when he formed a peace group in his senior years at high school.

Academically, Glen is a Master of Arts with major undergraduate studies in Communication and Information Technology.
